The Port of Leixões and its container terminal are integral parts of the European port system, playing a key role in international logistics.

Positioned on the Atlantic façade of the Iberian Peninsula, the port serves as a crucial inter-regional hub and a reference point for global and regional supply chains. Mainly a gateway terminal, Leixões focuses on shortsea shipping while maintaining strong connections to major European port hubs. The terminal also attracts deep-sea lines through value-added operations, aligning with shifts in the global logistics paradigm.
